OOTD: 2nd May 2013

Trilby Hat - H&M
Jumper - M&Co
Leggings - New Look
Ankle Boots - Peacocks

I'm wearing this comfy outfit to keep slightly warm in the wind but not too warm. The plain blackness of the leggings, hat and boots emphasises the jumper. I love this jumper so much it's white with red, yellow, green and blue flecks and it's super cosy. The buckles on the boots and the hat add edge to the look and the red lipstick brings it all together.

OOTD: 27 April 2013

Top - Topshop
Skirt - H&M
Boots - Dune
Clutch Bag - Ted Baker
Bracelet - Unknown
Lipstick - MUA Shade 3
Nails - LCN 208

It has unfortunately been kinda cold again recently and today wasn't an exception. I decided to start with a black base with my black tights and black long-sleeved top from Topshop. I do usually wear a black vest under this top too because it's a little sheer in some lights. For the centre-piece I'm wearing this stretchy mini-skirt from H&M in a sort of leopard print. This skirt was only £3.99 and it is so comfortable! To tie into the brown colours in the skirt I decided to wear my tan boots from Dune. These are so comfy and have a small but chunky heel so they are so easy to walk in. Again tying in with the browns my bracelet is made of these wooden beads, and also blue ones, in different sizes with a layered effect to look like multiple bracelets. I can't remember where it's from I've had it for many years and don't wear it often enough! I quickly grabbed my Ted Baker clutch which is leather but it's patent black leather and has amazing lining too. It's mostly just my wallet but it's a decent enough size to use as a clutch bag too. My nails are brown and the colour is from LCN and doesn't have a name just the number 208. It's a gorgeous colour with a pearlescent shimmer in it but it's not in your face. My lipstick is a bright pink from MUA. It's shade number 3 and I just felt the look needed something exciting again so I decided this would be fun!

Hope you liked this outfit! Laurel x

OOTD: 14 April 2013

Trilby Hat - H&M
Floaty Long Top - M&S
Leggings - New Look
Silver Beaded Pumps - Market Stall

So it's getting warmer and so today I'm wearing this floaty top which is so lovely. It was my Mum's and she used to wear it with jeans but she decided to give it to me but I didn't feel it looked quite right with jeans. It is also too sheer to wear with tights. I'm also wearing a black vest top underneath. I put on my black trilby hat to match in with the leggings and added the beaded pumps to keep with the laid-back indie feel. I'm so glad it's getting warmer still! Hope you're all having an amazing day! x

Denim Jacket- Next
Shirt- Boden
Skirt- DIY
Shoes- New Look

My outfit for today is fairly casual as I'm not going anywhere special. My shirt is a collar-less chiffon sheer shirt in a creamy colour. I paired this with my powder-blue skirt which I made myself a few years ago. I added a plain black leather belt around the skirt to bring my waist in and create a break. I'm also wearing plain back tights and black heeled, brogue-style shoes, which are so comfy and easy to walk in all day. I added an over-sized denim jacket on for warmth and a selection of blue bangles just for a bit of fun! Hope you're all having a great day! xx

Cute Cupcakes

In my physics class we have a cake rota and each week a different person brings in cakes or biscuits that they have made. This week was my week and I made these cute little fairy cakes! They were so simple to make, super cute and really yummy!
Ingredients:
-2 eggs
- 4oz butter
- 4oz caster sugar
- 4oz self-raising flour

For the butter cream:
- 2oz butter
- icing sugar

This was so easy and I made the cakes the night before and baked them in these cute little cases! I left them to cool overnight and then cut out a circular section from the top and cut it in half, filling the gap with a spoonful of butter cream and then putting the cake back to look like butterfly or fairy wings. I dusted them finally with icing sugar to look prettier! Think they went down pretty well as nobody complained! I really love baking but unfortunately don't have enough time usually so it made a nice change! xx

Summer Pastels

So spring is pretty much coming back around and my nails really needed a painting so I decided to go through my collection of nail varnishes and see what took my fancy. While looking I suddenly realised I had managed to collect rather a few pastels and thought they were looking lovely and are quite in right now and will definitely take off in the spring!

First couple of colours are citrus colours! The orange colour is from Natural Collection and was £1.89 from Boots. This colour has a cute shimmery glitter in it and is called"Antique Coral". The yellow is from Avon and I got it for christmas so I don't know how much it was and is in the colour "Lemon Sugar". Yellow is a little hard to wear for me on it's own so I tend to wear it with other colours but it really is a lovely colour! Both of these nail varnishes last surprisingly well also!

These next two are cool colours, both from Rimmel. The green is called "Peppermint" and was £4.59 and the blue is "Sweet As Sugar" and was £2.99, both from Boots. I LOVE the green colour I have actually found mint amazingly wearable and versatile and the consistency of the actual polish is great and it is very durable! The blue was quite disappointing as it needed about 5 coats to not seem too thin and it wasn't very durable either; only lasting about a day, but the colour is beautiful.
These two colours are more girly. The lilac colour is called "Marshmallow Heaven" and is by Rimmel. I got it for £2.99 from Boots. It's a really great consistency of formula, only needs one coat and lasted 4 days, which is great! The pink is from No7 and is called "Pink Pure". I bought it in a set in the sale for £10. It was a very thin formula and needed many coats, which just wouldn't dry and so got smudged, and when I finally got it sorted it chipped within 5 hours, every time! Really disappointed as the colour is lovely!

I finally decided on the mint colour to try and encourage the snow we had today to go away and bring on spring! I really love how flattering this colour is against my skin and I'm hoping it will last a few days (at least) of daily school-life wear and tear! Thank you for reading, hope you enjoyed this! xx
